- About Us -
Hi, and welcome to the Quesnel Aboriginal Diabetes Prevention and Awareness
Program. We are located at the Quesnel Tillicum Society Native Friendship
Centre in British Columbia.
Our objectives are to:
- Raise awareness of Diabetes, its risk factors, the value of healthy
lifestyles, and the importance of diabetes screening.
- Deliver a fun, culturally appropriate, and effective school-based
health promotion and diabetes prevention program.
- Provide a creative, culturally appropriate, and effective community-based
health promotion and diabetes prevention program.
- Facilitate Aboriginal ownership to ensure long-term viability.
Some of our activities include:
- Workshops and Health Fact Sheets production
- Ongoing healthy lifestyle school education programs, focusing on healthy eating, active living and tobacco reduction.
- Educational activities at special community events
